Default New to the site

Hi everyone as the title says we... (hubby who cant type worth beans and me!) are newbies to this forum and we are happy to see a great looking fishing forum. We used to post on ifish but ...it aint what it used to be! Anyhow we were thinking of checking out Warm Springs Reservoir east of Burns, having never been there, and was wondering if anyone had any info or tips for camping (rv style) and fishing ...bank or boat? Any info would be great and we will be posting how and what we did while there. Maybe just gonna be reading a book heehee!!! Thanks a bunch!

Thumbs up Welcome to OFF

Welcome - nice to have you here, wish I could be of more help - but I have never been there. I do have a site that might help Oregon Parks and Recreation: State Parks About Us
Good luck and be sure to check into special passes, sometimes the Tribes require a special pass to angle in there waters.

Chuck

I have never fished there...but, I do shoot rats out that way every spring....we stay at a camp site (Crystal Crane Hot Springs) outside of Burns....in Crane ( I don't know if this is outta your way )...but this place is very clean and has cabins, outdoor tent spots as well as hookups for RV's.....

Welcome! My favorite lake over there is Lake Billy Chinook. It borders the south side of the Warm Springs Reservation. There are 2 campgrounds I know of, Cove Palasades State park on the southeast corner and Perry South at the mouth of the Metolious. Perry South is a ferderal camp ground with out electricity and running water, but it does have a nice boat ramp and dock. If you wish to fish the Metolious arm of the lake you'll have to get a permit from the reservation, they own the fishing rites to that arm. You can get them at several locations around the lake. Tight Lines!!!

Default Thanks!

Thanks everyone for the quick replies!! I think we are gonna like this forum alot!
You know it is kinda funny, we cant seem to find anyone who has ever fished Warm Springs Reservoir. hmmmm wonder what that means heehee! Like I said I better be sure and take a good book. Or may have to go the Snake River as we have heard the catfishing has been picking up a little bit. Anyone else hear about the Snake?
We fish with a group of us and we like to try different spots all over Oregon all spring and summer. Anyone with favorite fishing spots....that you are willing to share ...please post and we will share info about some of our favs too....Take care all and HAPPY FISHIN'
