Ohh the bait/tackle shop in oakridge is run by a true american class act and I enjoyed talking with him if you get a chance to meet him I found it entertaining. also your area is beautifull your lucky to have those woods as your fishing grounds
Lookout Point Res. is a very interesting place, ODFW stocks the river above with adult Chinook Salmon by the hundreds each year and they go to there ancient spawning grounds and do there thing. Know after a few years there is a great population of Chinook in there along with Rainbow, Cutthroat and Crappie along with a very healthy population of Large Mouth Bass. I am a Trout/Salmon angler and I have for the last two years started chasing Bass and Crappie. Being a beginner I can't say if the fish in there are any larger or smaller than anywhere else, but the Bass are in the 1 1/2 to 5 lb and the Crappie are larger than a grown mans hand. Jigging for the Crappie and Trolling for Salmon and Trout, like you said " I am very lucky" and appreciate it all ways.
As far as the local color in Oakridge, yea he is a peach. Kind of a Norman Rockwell type of guy. There is a couple of great fly shops up the McKenzie that will do all they can to put you into fish.

I only pursue the Salmon in the Lake...that way it is catch and eat
as far as my favorite creek or stream in the Oakridge area would be the Middle Fork of the Willamette above Hills Creek Res., second only to the North Fork of the Middle Fork of the Willamette above Westfur, great Trout Streams the both.
Now if you are talking remote and wild....my choice would be Staley Creek above Hills Creek Res. Cutthroat heaven. Tight lines to you and safe angling.

Let me see what I can come up with maybe even a ruff map. I think you would like it, steep canyons and bed rock, tons of pocket water. Talk to you later.
