Maybe there is some kind of epidemic? Will removing decomposing fish be beneficial? Should I go ahead and remove them? Or is it better for the ecosystem to let them be?

In other news I quit smoking 2 days ago. I smoked every time I fished at the pond and I put my butts on the ground. So today I decided to clean the pond from butts. I picked up 504 butts.

As for the fishing - the weather was not really fishing weather.

But I saw a guy who caught a fish. And he happens to be our own Gramps. It's always nice to meet another OFFer and even better to see a fellow OFFer catching a fish.

And in the end, clearly a person that comes prepared.

Yeah nice job with the cigarette butts. I need to quit smoking too. I have cut back from two packs a day to one every two days. I pushed into three yesterday... Damn heatrods... As far as the fish go, I tend to think artificial baits.. I don't know if powerbait is healthy for fish or not, but I bet at a pond like that they find plenty of it. Not to criticize people who use it. Picking them up? I would leave them be. crayfish and bugs feed on them and the more bugs there are more food for trout I guess... But just a guess.

Most assuredly leave the fish carcases in the water, benefits the micro organisms in the pond. As far as letting the ODFW know, consider it done. I will send this thread to them. That guy with the rod arsenal was really prepared for every possible attack. Those hail stones looked like golf balls. Nice job on cleaning up the shore line....kudos to you.......

Yesterday specreck asked if a floatation device can be used in the pond and today someone actually used it. Or maybe it is specreck?

But the weather ordered to put the device back on a trailer and go home. Another mysterious (spring?) day.

I red in books that an angler should locate fish. How? Just think as fish, ask yourself: "If I were a fish where would I be now?" So today it was not difficult at all to answer that question. If I were a fish I would be somewhere else, not here.

These two guys got the "Hero of the pond" award today. For two reasons. The first one - they don't care about the weather, they just catch fish. The second one - the guy is carrying back his Pepsi cup.
"And what a big deal?" you can ask. Well...

That's what I picked up today.
