Anyone got a recent report to share? What is working? what isn't? Going down there on Friday to try for some trout. Any advice would be appreciated.

Just don't forget a bobber set up...........cast out into the middle as far as possible with about 4-6 feet of leader. Don't lay your rod done unattended, don't ask me why I say that.

there are plenty of monsters in there and even some nice 18-19 inch trophies.
i got them on corn powerbait with a good amount of leader. and yep watch your pole. last week i casted my rod out and went to move the car and when i came back my rod was shaking like crazy and almost went into the water. it was a 19 inch trophy on the other end. |

I went out to JC pond with a friend for the first time yesterday after seeing the pics of the monsters they put in there last year. The weather was pretty bad and the fish were not biting although we saw plenty of BIG fish cruising around. Tried worms, spinners and powerbait without a bite, and nobody I talked to caught anything either. I think the water needs to warm up a little, Maybe.

This guy did not make it. but I take comfort in knowing there are around 300 or so similarly fat pigs still lurking in there from the stocking just a few weeks ago. Also after fishing I had the chance to tour the Willamette brewary and taste some excellent esspresso stout. mmmmmmmmm.

the big guys are biting on kastmasters, also curly tail jigs worked. powerbait is hot for the big trophy sized trout.

That's funny because that's what the brooders were hitting last weekend up at Klineline Pond. Bronze or gold Kastmasters.
