Default Hills creek with the Family

Made it out today with the full family to Hills Creek. My wife, son, and two dogs all managed to join me on my fishing expo. So what was planned to be a serious fishing day turned into just a dip my line in the water and enjoy the family on the lake day. We trolled for about an hour with only one hook up with a long distance release before even getting to the area I REALLY wanted to fish. My son, who is only 1.5 YO, started getting really into everything after about an hour, it was hard to keep him in the boat! So we didn't stay long, there were plenty of other fisherman and boaters out there, so I'm sure somebody caught my limit for me. It was a great day to be on the water and a great day to get my son out on the boat again. We topped it all off with a blowout from the trailer tire as we passed the hardware store in Oakridge. Lucky for us we stopped at that hardware store b/c we didn't have the right size socket for the nuts on the tire, and we didn't realize the spare I had only had 4 holes instead of 5 needed to fit onto the trailer. Guess I didn't realize that when I ordered it from Cabellas. So after a nice trip to the tire store and a short dinner at a local eatin waiting for a new tire we ended up having a pretty nice day in the end.

thanks for the photos and the report. It looks like a great time, even with the trailer hangups.

Those are some great pictures. The pic of the little guy playing with the water is what it's all about...enjoying the simple and pure things that nature has to offer. Thanks for the report.

I'm not sure what to write beyond, that looks like a job well done. Taking into account that your report could have been written a completely different way, it sounds like you kept your chin up and enjoyed yourself none-the-less. Your son likely saw this as well and learned from it.
