I made it to the ramp at Hills Creek just a little before sunrise...slide the boat into the water and looked around and saw a Bald Eagle staring at me.....I think it winked at me..
The water temp was 41 at the ramp and 38 in the back, the lake is coming up fast and there was quite a bit of floating debris in the lake. Finding the fish is easy when the wind is flat and the fish are rising and feeding on the surface. Sight casting to large Trout is so much fun, the way they hit the lure; it feels like a Steelhead, slam and the reel starts screaming. I was by my self and I caught my self giggling and at one time laughing out loud, like a kid. I guess you would have to experience it, maybe some of you have and know what I mean. Caught some very nice Rainbows and a few CutBows, the water is still to cold for the Bass to come out and play...but with weather like today it shouldn't be long. Spinner baits and poppers...oh my ![]() Here a a few pictures, by myself so the fish had to stay in the net (44" ) most of the fish were in the high teens...great day and I didn't fall in the water, for those of you that know me that makes for a great day.Chuck ![]() ![]() ![]()

Chuck, if you keep posting such beautiful shots of Hills Creek, you are going to force me to skip school
Great job on the solo trip. Glad to hear you managed to stay out of the water.

WTG Chuck!
Thanks for the great pics and report!I know just what you are talking about. When I am out by myself I don't believe that anyone else on the water has more fun out there than I do. It is such a wonderful experience, and the Bald Eagle thing is a great memory too. Peace, Tom |

The fish in the last picture that wasn't an attachment is a pig! Was that one of those cutbows you're talking about? The spots on the back towards the tail look more cutthroaty to me than rainbow, but the head and shoulders look distinctly rainbow.
