This time of year the only available ramp is Packard Creek, after the water comes up another 30 or so feet there will be two others you can use. It depends on what species of fish you are targeting. The Salmon seem to hang around the dam area this time of year, troll about 50 - 100 feet in front of the dam and along the shore lines of the Hills Creek arm, they seem to like wedding rings with a chunk of worm and tipped with white corn (shoe peg). Trout seem to like the water in the back of the reservoir up stream from Packard Creek bay, the middle fork of the Willamette feeds this arm and there are a number of creeks that feed it, like most reservoirs where there is water coming in the Trout will congregate. I like to troll down the middle very slow this time of year, in about 30 to 15 feet of water. I don't use any weight or blades just a lure about 125 - 150 feet behind the boat, the trick is not to snag one of those old stumps or a point jutting out. It just takes time on the water.
A note on the corn....yellow corn is illegal in this state, only white corn is allowed. It has to do with digestion; like people fish can't digest the yellow corn and become plugged up in there digestive system and will die. The white corn is very digestible as far as fish go.
Hope this helps, feel free to ask any question.

Post Repeat offender...

To answer your question; I like to fish from the boat ramp all the way back to the head waters of the middle fork of the Willamette. Some times I get antsy for casting and kick the outboard in the butt and just go to the back. There are plenty of locations for the bank angler, nice access to the lake from the east shore line. I have caught fish fifty feet from the boat ramp and all the way back. I do fish much deeper when trolling in a couple hundred feet of water, my sonar shows the thermocline and I just drop my down rigger to just about that and start zig zagging my way back to the rear of the lake.

NO, you might want to look at a map of the lake. There are two major arms, one is the Hills Creek arm and the other is the Middle Fork arm, the place I am talking about is the Middle fork arm, it is about three times bigger than the Hills creek arm. Once you launch your boat at Packard creek you head out toward the lake portion and turn right this will put you into the Middle fork.
Let me us know how you do, I am going back up on this Sunday with a friend and if you show up with your boat I would be willing to show you the ropes.
