nice work! im fairy new to OFF so its nice to hear all the stories people have. im still young but a year or so ago i bought a little boat like that, about 16'' w/ a 15hp evinrude motor. Ive always wanted a hood like that for my boat and was curious if the boat came with it? if not where might i find one? Thanks

The way I understand this technique is that you simply let out 100ft or more of line with just your lure on it to get it away from the boat. This is normally done spring, winter, and fall when the fish are going to be shallow. Since the fish are usually shallow one can forgo divers, weights, and flashers, but there's nothing that rules any of those out, for example it might be worth while to keep the flashers on your line if the fish need a little bit more flash to bring them in. So it's just a matter of what the fish want.

thats kind of what i thought. so just let out a 100 feet of line or more with just a plan lure like a tazmainin devil?

What a perfect choice, great lure for that type of trolling. Try not to go too fast and get the lure rolling, get the speed right and let the lure down just a bit under the surface. Check out the action, play with your speed until the lure is working sweet. Then you can throw the motor into neutral for a couple seconds and then put it back into gear and the lure will drop and flutter for those few seconds and when you put it back into gear the lure will pop up and twist a bit. Great action along with turning the boat one way or another, like a "S" turn. When you turn right the person fishing on the port side; their lure will drop, and the person one the starboard side; their lure will rise. This is how most anglers give the lure some action, going straight down the middle of a lake at the same speed can catch fish too. I learned something a few years ago I will share, while trolling keep the sun to your back or either side...never troll into the sun.
The reason for this theory is this; fish won't feed into the sun - it temporarily
blinds them...to many predators out there to be blinded. I have put it to the test on many occasions and its proved it self time and time again. There is much to learn, the key is to enjoy the whole experience - more than a few times I have drifted off looking at the scenery and had my rod jerk me back to reality. Hang in there !!
