Default Harriet Lake

Went to Harriet on Fri with two others. Heavy action on all kinds of Power bait off the bottom. I have a new dedication to the Power Egg! I have found they stick to the treble much better than the dough. I caught Four Trout with the same three Power Eggs on my Treble. I don't think the fish hit them as aggressively, but you don't lose your bait when you miss the hit and they have been coming back to hit again. The weather was great and the fishing was sweet action! We caught well over 20 fish as we kept 14 nice keeper trout. See stringer pic. A highlight of the trip was a surprise visit from an otter that was scouting our stringer. Sure was cool seeing one in the wild. It stood on a log off shore and looked at us for a second or two before swimming away. Did not have time to get a picture.

Default Clear water Lake

JT, thanks for the cool pictures...that has to be one of the clearest lakes I have seen in quite a while. Nice stringer of Trout, nothing like spending the day out in the wild and be able to bring dinner home.
Where is Harriet Lake at ? Again, thanks for sharing....

Chuck

I am looking for a "new to me" lake to go to tomorrow. I have narrowed my list down to Benson, Harriet, or Roslyn. I know absolutely nothing of any these places, but just from what I have seen in these pics I am favoring Harriet.
I am just wondering if I can float tube there?

Nice picture of fish in the water! That's a nice quiet lake to fish- good job on the catching.

Obsessed- it would be a great float tube lake- probably VERY cold though! Secluded in the forest, unlike both Benson and Roslyn which are quite busy and noisy places comparatively to Harriet. You might the only one on the lake on a Monday!
Troutski- Harriet is east of Estacada-up the Clackamas River- I forget-maybe 20-30 miles?

Peace and quiet and tranquility is just what the Dr. ordered, so I went to Harriet. I got skunked, but at least I got skunked at an amazing place.
The drive alone was worth the trip, but the water there is almost unbelievable. I wasn't he only one on the water but it felt like it.(there were 3 of us)
I can't wait to go see how Lake Timothy compares.

Looking forward to Timothy myself- it's like a little slice of heaven up there. The first month in the spring when it opens is some great fishing. The water is crystal clear and the scenery is outstanding.

Lots of different kinds of fish structure to fish, shallow shoals, stumps and rocks, deep water-somewhere there's a fish that bites! For a float tube it will seem huge but fish are accessible everywhere the shoreline is accessible to people. I've seen a couple 20+ inch rainbows and have heard rumours of huge brook trout but haven't caught one of those over 14"-yet!

FYI- I have gone there early twice just before they stocked fish- it was a disappointment both times- although I talked to fishermen there who said they usually do very well early- just not that day! It's really hard to get skunked after it's been stocked though because unlike the fish in Haag (finicky as heck)these fish know a good Needlefish when they see it! Two of us can often catch 40-80 trout in a day. Fun place.

I couldn't find any stocking info on "Timothy Lake" but there were plenty of stocking dates for "Timothy Meadows". Is this, in fact, the same place?

I live out in Estacada, so if anyone is going up to Harriet (at any time) and doesn't mind company, I'd be more than happy to join. My friend and I are probably going to head up there next Thursday (weather permitting) so let me know if anyone wants to meet up.
