Default Green Peter in the snow!!

Thought there was a chance, given the weather report, that we would get turned back from the lake due to snow, but we headed down there with fingers crossed! It looked like this the last few miles to the lake.

It got worse before it got better! This was my first clue that "Raincatcher" wasn't going to be on the lake today!

It looked like this thru a little opening in the canopy on the way up the lake!

About three times during the day we fished in stuff like this!

During one of these snow flurries, Dale caught this guy while trolling a Kastmaster along the bank.

We fished in the Santiam Arm again for the first 3 or 4 hours- it was not so easy to catch trout this time. We scraped up about 25 for the day along with 2 bass. Here's the other one Dale caught on a big Coyote spoon along the shore again.

The weather wasn't all bad- some nice breaks during the day- got to take a couple layers off one time.

Luckily the snow never stuck to the ground during any downfalls all day. One mid-day shower though really dumped for about a half hour and caused us to head closer to the ramp in case we had to make a run for it. Never happened though.

Left the ramp at dark in a very light snow and headed down the road. I joking said "You call that a snowstorm? That was squat!" Around the second corner after that was a blizzard! It snowed so hard we went only 20 miles an hour all the way out to the highway- had to completely stop twice cause the center line disappeared and so did the edge! About a mile from the highway Dale says" It's so amazing how hard it's coming down and it's still not sticking to the road". My wheels went around about two more times and the road was suddenly covered with an inch of snow! Now there was NO line OR edge of the road- only the tracks of a car which had gone the other direction- we drove next to those tracks. We made a pact to shut up about the weather until we got out of this mess! Another 3 miles of one snow on the road and then it was clear. Another half hour of fishing would have made for a VERY difficult drive out of there instead of just a fun adventure!

Have to give the tournament bass guys out there credit for being out there in OPEN BOATS! You get the tough guys award!

Post Blizzard Conditions...

I was at Hills Creek on Sunday and in blizzard Conditions also, the sun did come out just long enough to scoop some of the stuff out of the boat. Glad you guy's caught something.....nothing worst than going through something like that and have post on that other thread...
