I don't know how everyone feels about that, but i tell everyone about joining this website. I guess that is a little different than a bunch of crazed OFFers, in a common area, pluggin our home off the water. We definately should at least try to meet the other members who attend, if not socialize...I dunno guys, but I am excited, and I'm not even going for kokanee, but I'll have some new spinners to toss from the bank...They will be deadly! I can almost guarantee it!

You guys might want to save your trout and barbeque them at home. Remember that Kokanee Power has welcomed you to join our barbeque of hots, hams, salads etc. prepared by Rogue Rick and sidekicks. Lunch is included with the derby and we have decided to include any OFF and ifish folks whether they fish with us or not. So, come on out, say hi, and enjoy yourselves. We will be having some great raffle prizes and will list the folks and vendors that are providing them on the websites soon. Keep an eye open for them. Look forward to seeing you.

As promised, here is the list of prizes that will be available at the Derby.

We will have: 5 trout rods; 1 Kokanee Rod from Vance's Tackle; 2 soft sided tackle boxes; Ko Zone flashers; several items from Gary Miralles of Shasta Tackle; goodies from Robbie Thorson of R&K Spinners; assorted scents from Pro-Cure; tackle packs from John at Uncle Larry's Lures; a kokanee net; from Pro-Troll we have some knives, some spinner packs, & 8 miscellaneous tackle packs; and from Kokanee Power 2 ten year anniversary Kokanee Power kokanee rods. (I have seen these rods and they are great downrigger rods with some lively action, wish I had a couple). This list may be incomplete as there a couple more folks that plan on donating some more goodies that have not yet been received.

Entries are moving right along and more are expected this next few days. Only 7 days left until derby day, so don't forget to mail in your entry. We need to receive it prior to start of derby. With all the prizes available as listed above and paying down to 10th place your chances of going home with something is really, really good.

Have a great day! See you on the lake.

Thumbs up Greenpeter Post derby...

What a fun bunch of people...had a great time. Got to put some faces to the crazy names....passed out some OFF stickers and even put some in some unusual spots...we will see if anyone notices the new art work on there boats and vehicles... I left before the winners were crowned but the entries I did see were very nice fish indeed. Even some respectful Chinooks, I must admit I fished Foster..........had the lake to myself until 11 am...every one was at GreenPeter....even though the lake was drawn down very low for this time of year I still managed to do quite well.. The lake was in great shape the water temp was 71 degrees at the ramp and 56 degrees at the confluence of the Santiam....no Steelhead but a few respectful Rainbows... Even managed a few Small Mouths at the dam tossing a Rattle Trap (small green). All an all a great day and fun meeting the people from Kokanee Power, you guys put on a great Derby...and hats off to Shasta Tackle...Gary Miralles was there and passed out a ton of free lures and they even had a auction. Some lucky angler is going to walk away with a great rod...that thru the blank Koke rod was the cats meow. A great program and the weather even cooperated, just a hit of cloud cover and the water was clear down to 25 feet...
Here are a few pictures..enjoy.

Thanks to Chuck for attending. I missed meeting you somewhere along the line. Probably just busy doing something and missed you. Missed an OFF sticker too, darn. Next time.

As Chuck mentioned in his entry it was a great derby. I had envisioned as 30 fishermen being pretty successful for a first time event. We had 45 entries, so needless to say "ecstatic" was a good definition of my thoughts for the day. Next year will be even better. Thank you to all that attended and even some that didn't or couldn't for your support and encouragement.

Very soon Kokanee Power will be announcing the details or our next derby. It will be a very similar event and will be held at Crescent Lake on August 23rd. Hope to see some of you there as well.
