Willamette largemouth!

I caught this beauty at my "secret spot" that everyone knows about on the Willamette on Saturday morning from the bank. I caught one other largemouth in there last year so I knew they were there but this one was pretty impressive. around 3 lbs I think. Sorry for the selfie, was fishing alone. 
Only problem is that he swallowed my tube jig head. I couldn't get it out without ripping up his throat so I just cut it off at the tie. He swam off, hope I didn't kill him.

Very pretty fish for sure.

Many years back an ODFW Fisheries Biologist, told me to simply cut the line like you did. There is an enzyme in their bloodstream that, dissolves the hook in a couple of days. So that fish, should recover nicely.

Caught a 1 pounder a month ago in a little pond and I never realized how heavy they were. My biggest fish since i started 8 months ago
