I know this is on short notice, but i just signed up. Im going to E.E. wilson pond tomorrow and while in the area we will be going to Marys river near corvallis. has anyone fished Marys before? Any input on what flies that worked for you and any things that i can expect would be awsome. thanks

That Marys river is very muddy even in the best of times, and to make things worse public bank access is rather limited. Avery park has the best access and is a short distance above where it empties into the Willamette. You can also access it right at the mouth as well, from the park that includes the skate park down on the river front.
I've never caught or seen a trout in there but plenty of bass and pikeminnow. You might have fair luck as the Marys is probably warmer than the Willamette. Though personally I'd suggest you spend you're time fishing EE Wilson, but would look forward to a report if you do try the Marys. Edit: There's also a park in Philomath on the Marys river. I've never been there but it might be worth a look. Last edited by chris61182 : 04-03-2008 at 08:50 PM. Reason: Picture |
