I am just starting out fly fishing and I love to target bass. Is a 6wt rod enough back bone to cast most bass flys? Also where is a good place around the portland area to start my bass-fly experience?Any tips on good patterns are much appreciated.

8 or 9 weight. Zonker leeches are the fly angler's equivalent to the plastic worm. Fast sinking fly line is needed to get the lure down.
There are lots of great books available like Beyond Trout. |
