Hi, I was wondering whether the Basin attracts a lot of folks from outside the Willamette zone, or whether most people who don't live in the Basin seem to prefer other places (coast, umpqua, rogue?) if they're going to make a trip away from home?
Thanks! |

I live IN the zone so what do I know?
![]() As far as lake fishing for trout goes: My guess would be that there's not many lakes inside the zone that have the kind of bigger and better fish that could be found on a normal basis in areas away from the greater population of the Willamette Valley. So there wouldn't be much reason to come here- except maybe to meet friends for a trip or something like that. Possibly the south valley has somewhat better opportunities, more lakes, a smaller people population- I make that trip on occassion myself. Welcome to the forum BTW. Jim |

I agree with Jim, I live here so my drives are quite a bit shorter than most; that being said I would still make the trip to the valley...excellent fishing opportunities in this area "Excellent". Oh, and welcome to OFF; where do you hang your hat ?
