Default Selmac Lake

Going to Selmac this weekend. Has anyone heard any recent fishing reports?

Haven't found anything on fishing reports, but I did find that it was last stocked with trout (3,500) in June. Have fun over there.

I'm hoping to get a stab at the next state record largemouth before the cold set in. Big swimbaits in a trout pattern?

Castaic and SPRO are fun, but I have my eye on Lucky Craft's Reel Californian swimbait, except I am having a hard time parting with $40. I do best with those swimbaits the first few days after the stock truck comes by. The bigger bass just hang out waiting for the state to feed them.

I think that during the fall activity time when the trout start schooling as they prepare for winter. You know, following the last few hatches, the bass should be nearby lurking, waiting for an easy, but big soft-ray meal.

I like the way you think.......but thirty dollars plus shipping. I would surely lose it the first cast.

That's my thinking/worry. That's why I only have two at this point.

I saw some Trout swim baits at Fishermans for about 25-30 bucks. They looked to be about 6-8 inches long.

Default Soft baits

Check out this site, great stuff. They offer a 9 inch Rainbow Trout that looks better than the real thing, it is a Bass lure Castaic Soft Bait, Inc - The World's Most Realistic Fishing Lures. Again, I don't own one, just drool over them and tie on another Storm lure...nice medium priced bait.
