Hi cchinook and welcome to the Oregon Fishing Forum!

Your post confused me a little bit. I'm from Ukraine and don't know all the English words So I looked in my dictionary for the translation of a "perch" and it translates the "pearch" as a "bass"! Is there really a connection between a pearch and a bass? Because untill now I thought they are two different species.

Default Fish Identifacation

I believe your correct, that does look like a Perch. I think they are related to the Bass, their are fresh and salt water versions. Vary spiny, but very good to eat.

Default perch

Growing up I fished the Honeymon State park towards the coast and we could actually catch these little buggers in our hands. They were spawning at the time and I will never do it again but it was a great place to catch perch nd trout.

That looks like a yellow perch. I've caught them at a lake south of Florence, the name escapes me. But all I remember is they are very boney. But they are tasty, something like crappie or blue gill.
