Default Hagg Lake report and i was far from being skunked

Got down on the water about 3 the wind was horrid no action tons of stupid jet skiers and swimers but finaly around 430 wind died a bit and i setteled in on the bank after nothing from cat fish smell bait a kind fellow fisherman gave me the rest of his worms since he was leaveing. He said he caught a few cats and perch and sun fish so i was getting exited. 2 mins later i had a yellow perch on the shore it was small but i was pumped .
I ended up with 21 yellow perch includeing a 12 incher and a mess of 9 inchs that are currently in my frezzer Yummy since i gut hooked mostof them so thats why istarted to keep them .
I also caught a nise 12-13 inch small mouth and a 9-10 inch small and 1 largie about 8 or 9 inchs felt some big bites but missed them. Left at 7.
Haggs a gem if you fish it right. All fish on worms and crawfish tails.
Cant waint to get out in our cannoe this fall and spring. ---Sean
Sorry no pics i was a mess with mud and slime so i dident touch my camera.

Sounds like a good trip man. Were the yellow perch a new species for you?

Perch can be a lot of fun! I remember the first one I caught. This was in MN and I was using "crappie minnows" (as they call them out there) for bait. The perch must have been a total of 4 inches long! It got the minnow about halfway in its mouth and refused to let go. He wasn't anywhere near my hook but I pulled him out of the water and up about 6 feet to where I was. I struggled to get the minnow out of its mouth.

Went back today near the dam caught a 12inch rainbow on worms and a 8 on worms and 8 perch. Saw lots of perch and bass caught.

Where in Hagg do you fish at (if you're willing to give it away). No boat here either and would love to get into a mess of perch or crappie or whatever. Just look'n for some fun fishing before steelhead season gets here and things are less fun (cold, wet) but with bigger rewards....

How much does it cost to launch a boat on Hagg? Thinking I might just make the trip sometime very soon. Wouldn't mind having a partner with me to show me around the lake and get the fish in my net for me (don't want my "little" fish breaking the line while I try to pull them out of the water).
