I'm hoping to be out by Bonneville Dam on Sunday. If I'm not, I just might make a trip to Hagg with boat in tow... and if not, for shore fishing.

Anybody game for joining me if I'm not on the river?

Too late. I just got back from Hagg a few minutes ago. I was working on perfecting drop shot technique. Caught 3 largemouths at the dam and lost a few rigs in the crevices. Surprised I didn't get any smallmouth action because the dropshot is a smallmouth rig. Used a 3" Roboworm leach about 10" above the sinker. This time next year, it'll be part of my regular bag of tricks.

Boy the lake is low. I know they do it every year, but this year is one of the lowest, isn't it.

I'd be up for it... depending on how I'm feeling. A bit under the weather right now.

I have a boat but with lack of income, I'd rather not use the extra gas to tow the boat... or even purchase gas for the boat.

The bank fishing is good right now. Best spots are the cove near the dam and the point where the old handicapped dock used to be. Saw quite a few trout caught on eggs and powerbait. Don't forget about throwing in-line spinners because there were also some risers working the area.

I like me some in-line spinners! Do you think smaller crankbaits will work also?

If you can use bait, I'll be sure to bring some waxworms (you can get them at Petco). They work great on fish in Minnesota and are one of the staples of bait fishing out there.
