We gave it a try yesterday. Water was clear and at under 5ft. Tried 2nd bridge N. of town, couple other spots and ended up at Moonshine. No steel, lots of trout bites. Water almost to clear and low at Moonshine No DBs and only two other bankies around. Maybe next good rain will kick it off? And yes, we had good eggs and shrimp!

Default Anyone fish the siletz recently ?

Just curious if anyone has been to the siletz lately.I love that river but I have only fished it once last year in february. I want to get over there before the end of the month but it is a little far for slow fishing. Thanks for the feedback !

Hey let us/me know how you do.
Seems everyone is focused on the Alsea...?
If it means I can escape the crowds, I'll roll over to the Siletz.

Hey mike I will. I was starting to think nobody on this site fished the siletz or the ones that do are keeping it top secret. Its a special river so it wouldn't surprise me. My buddy and I are takin the boat down. I'm gonna practice on my "shreadin water" technique. Try to keep the anchor in the boat except for those special occassions. The guide special for my buddy lol. But like I said I will post some pics only if the fishing is crappy LOL...

    Default Cookie Cutter Buck

I finally made it over to the Siletz this weekend. Spent 2 long days on the water. Saturday was a good day weather was crap but fishing was good. I landed 1 nate and 1 cookie cutter buck. Sunday however was the complete opposite very nice weather but crappy fishn. What a beautiful river the siletz is. Was really just happy to be out in the boat chasing The Almighty Steel... Sorry no pics my buddy has them on his camera so waiting for him to email me.

Glad you guys hooked some fish on Saturday-my buddy and I were up in the gorge Saturday and landed 3 fish, 2 native winters, and 1 native summer. Can't believe Sunday didn't produce-looked like all the conditions were favorable. I've never fished the Siletz from a DB (some day) but I sure love the atmosphere of the gorge. Nice job out there

Fishing indeed. The bite could have been OFF/slow due to a myriad of factors (pressure/pressure changes, lunar/solar stuff, too many damn people pounding the water, etc.) but the water sure was nice. Maybe next time...
