Default Where and what to fish in Sun River

Hi, I wanted to take my dad to some place near Sun River where we can fish from off of a bank or a bridge. My dad just had knee surgery and I wanted to do something that doesn't require his crutches and I always wanted to start up fishing and this seems like the best time. Was there anywhere close to sun river like on the deschutes that anyone knows of where we could just sit on a bank or on a bridge and just cast out (not fly fishing). I have an attachment that is a photo of the rods i have. The first two on the left are some cheap rods I got at a Fred Meyer last year and the two on the right were my step grandfather's. The one on the very right is a Garcia Mitchell 306 and the rod second to the right is a Pen 209 Level Wind. Could we fish with these rods? Any help would be incredibly appreciated.
Thank you,
Pete

THe two spinning rods from Fred Meyer should serve you well when fishing for trout. I have not fished in the Sunriver area, but here is a link that might help.

Good luck!

Post Local fishing regs.

I don't get over there that often but one thing I do know is be careful where and how you angle when using the Deschutes system, there are some restrictions on type of tackle and method. I know there are some beautiful spots and even more beautiful fish that call those waters home. Just know the regs. and have a great time. Tight lines and good luck.

Will my experience will the deschutes is in the summer. every year my freind and i take a week and go to the sunriver area. I just use my cardinal 300 rod and reel with 6lb test. Krocodile spoons work best for me, either brown trout color, silver, or raindow trout color. ive also used a black/orange panther martin too, both caught fish. but ya i just bank fish the areas where the river converges with each other. Hope to have gave you some help, and good luck!
