Just returned from a trip to Crescent for some kokanee fishing. The fishing was BAD BAD BAD fished for three days on Crescent (have been fishing there for years) with out one strike. We trolled using a down rigger dragging various flashers, and jigged with many different jigs. We only saw a couple of areas with any concentrations of fish. We trolled and jigged through those schools to no avail. So we thought we would try Lava Lake. Figured it would have to be easier to catch trout. We were wrong! Lava Lake has turned and is an ugly green pea soup color. Again not even one strike, but did see one small trout boated. Since there were about 12-15 boats that is poor fishing.
Oh well, Next fishing trip can't be any worse! Glen |

Glen:
Think higher elevation from now until August. Think Paulina/East Lake. Think Miller Lake. Paulina/East for Kokanee, and Miller for Brown's.
