In todays Albany-Democrat Herald a photo of a young man holding a 28 pound channel catfish appeared. He said he caught it out of Waverly Lake on August 28th. I scanned the picture to upload it but it won't work. And the Herald hasn't posted the photo online yet. So anyway, ODFW told me last year that they have never stocked Timber Linn Lake, Swan Lake or Waverly Lake with channel cats. Timber Linn flows into Swan and Swan into Waverly and Waverly flows into the Willamette. A small dam on Waverly prevents fish from getting into it from downstream. So it would be easy to assume some private stocking went on there. I'll update this thread and post with the link when the photo/story appears in the Herald. Who knows how many channel cats might be in Waverly, or even Swan or Timber Linn.

I was driving along I-84 near celilo yesterday moving some stuff and looked over to some of those ponds and saw hundreds of huge carp sunning themselves. If anyone is driving that way in the heat of the day, it's worth looking, pretty cool. Tried to catch some, but didn't have any worms or corn. Is it worth trying this time of year? I'm headed back that way for opening weekend on friday might give it another shot.
