Detroit has trout, landlocked chinook and kokanee from what I hear. Though the only thing I have ever caught is trout from the dam. Most people use wedding ring w/worm,ford fenders, corn soaked in tuna oil, shrimp etc. Good luck with whichever one you chose. Let us know how you do. Barb

Nice to have you on the site, what type of fish do you prefer ? Where about do you try to catch fish ? Just trying to get to know you..if you use the search engine at the top of the page, just type in the body of water you interested in you can access the archives and there is a ton of information to be had.....you have picked a great site for learning and teaching....again welcome to the site.

I've also heard there are catfish galore, specially bullheads. I've never tried for them up there, but what I've heard is that if you fish with a worm and don't do something to keep it off the bottom you're pretty much guaranteed a catfish.
Here's a helpful pdf from Luhr Jensen with more details about detroit, http://www.detroitlakeoregon.org/ima...chBulletin.pdf |

The only place I hae caught those little Bullheads, was on the North end, also known as "The Flats" at night with a worm. Near the mouth of the N. Santiam river specifically. They are better suited to night fishing when it is warm, but I'm sure there are still some that are fairly active, but the Kokanee have come up to about 50 feet or so now, and should be much easier to target, with the thermocline up at a reasonable depth...
