We made it to Cougar Res. this morning.....the ramp was finely in, so the boat was right behind it. Water temp. 41/47 degrees, outside air temp. 33 degrees, damn that air was cold.....Started trolling right off the bat and we got the first fish within 2 min. - you know its gonna be a great day when you go to grab your camera and its on the table at home......
Oh well must be the day to catch the hog of a life time. We boated 19 fish, Four Rainbows and the rest Land Locked Chinook......Not another boat or bank angler to be found, the whole lake to our selves, and we used the entire lake. From one end to the other, most of the fish were caught in the back near Slide Creek Camp ground. The water was so clean and clear you could see the bottom in 29 feet of water. We did see our first Osprey of the year, a definite sign of SPRING, not any Eagles though. Great to be back to my first lake, this is the lake I learned to fish at, spent many of days up an down the bank getting skunked, then I got my first boat.....Oh yea. Can't even tell you how many times I was skunked at this lake. No one got hurt and neither one of us lost a lure, as a matter of fact I found a 1/4 oz. Kastmaster (gold) my favorite color. The parking lot at the hot springs was full all day long, those people really know how to live. We were breaking ice off the guides in the morning and I brought home a sunburn in the afternoon. Crazy days in Oregon.... So a great day of fishing and friendship - man I love fishing on weekdays. Chuck
