Not for you, for the forum.
I want to share my idea with you and would like to get your opinion. I made a 'prototype' of a new face for the forum. Please take a look at http://www.oregonfishingforum.com/test.php. I made a dropdown menu that contains most of the homepage content (a list of all forums). This gave me an opportunity to fill the page with featured topics accompanied with pictures. This is not a finished product but it will give you an idea... |

I like the direction it's going, as one of the biggest problems I've had navigating the forums is that you have to browse into all of the categories (too many sub-categories in the by location section) to see all the new posts. So I look forward to seeing how it turns out as you keep working on it.

You have my vote.....the pictures with the heading is a nice touch. The tab system on the top of the page is sweet.

I like it a lot. Anitoily did you ever see the idea for a special new to fishing section? It is in the post "Hey Anitoily or Troutski." Nice work on the new stuff!

I'm glad that you like it. Then I need your help with names of tabs and what and where to put. I don't have any problem with our category "Focus on Fishing by Location" - I made a tab "Fishing by Location" and put all zones (Northwest Oregon , Southwest Oregon, etc) under it.
Focus on Fishing in General - have some questions. I called the tab "Fishing by species" and moved there fishing for trout, steelhead etc... Now we have the "Fly Fishing in Oregon" there. May be I should create a new category (new tab) - "Fly Fishing" ? In this case - what should be names of forums in this category? Advice pls. |

Update. I made a dropdown menu for easy access to different forums from any page. However I am not able to make those green dots work (to indicate new posts in forums).
Thus I have to keep the list of forums on the homepage. So I abandoned the idea of featured topics with pictures on the homepage. At least for now. P.S. It looks like everything works fine, but if you notice any glitch - please let me know. |

I'm liking it Anatoliy. The drop-down menus are nice and I like the larger PM/greeting on the left side. You've been working really hard on this...you should take a break and hit the water
