Big Grin The "thermometer" on the home page

After my fishing trip with Troutski yesterday I understood how connected fishing and the weather are. And how useful it can be to take a look at a thermometer when you are making a decision whether to go fishing or not. So I put a "thermometer" on the home page of the forum.

It will show the temperature in any place - just type in a zip code or the name of a city.

P.S. To get to the home page of the forum click the lure in the upper right hand corner.

Very handy. Thank you, Anitoliy. I will probably (stupidly) ignore the temperature when deciding whether or not to go fishing, but at least it will more realistically indicate my chances of getting any bites.

I replaced the old thermometer with a smarter one. The new one determines user's location based on IP.

Default Thermometer

Very cool, except it can't be too smart because it thinks I am in Kirkland, WA

Ok guys, now we have our own little "weather station". The "Local Weather in Oregon" link in the top left hand corner. It shows current temperature, humidity, wind speed, barometer, Sun & Moon information, 7 days forecast etc. You can "customize it" (click the "options" link) so it will always show the information for your location.

It still requires more work from my side. Now it shows "Current Conditions" for big cities only. It will be fixed. Plus the "skin" will be changed so it will look like the forum does. Just need some time.

Now you can see "Current Conditions" for the following cities: Salem, Portland, Eugene, Newport, Lincoln city, Tillamook, Springfield, Junction city, and Oakridge. The "Current Conditions" shows current temperature, humidity, wind speed, barometer, dewpoint, heat index, and wind chill.

If you live in the city that is not listed above and would like me to add your sity, so you would be able to see "Current Conditions" too, just let me know.
