I hear that. Gas prices are limiting my play budget.

That is soooo badass man. I really am into the personal/versatile type craft and that thing takes the cake!!! You need to hit the bay in that thing man, if you haven't already! If we ever crossed paths you would let me take a spin right? Come on now...

I got it from Cabelas, mine is the three bow style...I think it was about 150 dollars plus I bought the slide rail system so I could store in on the boat.

Mokai - can you run the Mokai upstream with any white water? I fish main Umpqua and wondered if this boat could handle the summer upstream current in some of the spots I would like to go. Also, if you consider it safe enough to run on a river like that.

Thanks

Tom

Last summer I had it on the Umpqua near Yellow Creek and it did fine..
I use it on the McKenzie and Willamette all the time and it can handle the current great..If its a real fast rapid it will slow it down but I can still get through..
The main reason I bought it was to run the rivers..Put in and take out at the same spot..

It is fairly steep but I think well, well worth it. Especially with a Honda motor. They are damn near the best out there. If you bought just a Honda outboard with the same power rating you would probably pay more for it that you would for the entire Mokai.

I went to Costco the other day and saw something I'd really like to take a closer look at.

Costco - Colorado Pumpkin/Black Pontoon Boat

Not bad for $300...even has a place to mount a battery and a minn kota. I'd really like to get into some "no wake" lakes and play around with it a bit.

What do ya guys think? Worth the $300?

ehh I would reconsider. There was a thread about this boat on another site where several people have bought one only to replace it the same or next year. Another guy said he looked at it closely and felt the pontoons where thin and not made very well. There are much better pontoons out there for around the same price. Check here:

Cabela's -- Pontoons
