Default Old Town Dirigo Motor mount/Rain sun bracket

The last time I went fishing I realized the need for a trolling setup. I am not talking downriggers and all that, but a way to keep my kayak at a consistant speed and a way to keep that speed even when I have a fish on or want to just stop paddling. I looked at a few motor/propulsion ideas and came up with the following. I couldn't use my Minn Kota Endura 30 because of it's weight. It's not really heavy but for a small kayak it too heavy. After looking at different homemade motor ideas such as using a cordless drill(he he) and even a sealed high torque windsheild wiper motor I found a Sevylor trolling motor for $59.00 at Bi-Mart. This along with some good old PVC and I had a trolling motor bracket and soon to come, a rain/sun hood that connects to the center "T" PVC connector. Quick, cheap, durable, just how I like it.

At least this time I have a boat made here in the U.S. so the OR numbers will be a piece of cake.

I still need to get a battery. So many choices, I need just the right size. A few weeks yet before it's ready. Or maybe I will give it an early morning test at Dexter on Saturday.....Use my fishfinder battery just to test it out.......
