Default Old Town Dirigo sonar

I wanted to share how I mounted the fishfinder on my kayak. The recieving unit was the first challenge. This kayak had good mounting spots for the rodholder and drink holder but I had to think a little differently for the sonar. The bracket in the picture is a transom mount for a transducer. It works great and is very solid. The transducer was a little more technical....more pictures soon.....
A metal transducer mount that came from a different unit..

Then the factory mount..

Ready to display..

Ok, here's the transducer mount. It works extremely well. Because of the kayak material, I could not do a shoot thru hull setup. So Mokai suggested making a bracket. This is made entirely of PVC components. I tell ya, you can make anything out of PVC, the stuff is like majic.
THE BRACKET>>>

Up and out of the way for those weedy, shallow situations...

Ready to echo locate.....roger

Thanks! Maybe it will help someone in the future if they have the same problem. I would love to see some of your mods step by step. The PVC bracket works very well but I also have an idea for a very simple metal bracket . The PVC cylinders do contain the cord well but I got to thinking that I could have also just wrapped the cord up and around a metal rod that is connected to a simple metal L bracket fastened to the yak. Always another project.....
