Near Scott Lake off the Old McKenzie Hwy. ~1.5 mile hike in by trail. Can't help with a fishing report.

Default Benson Lake

There may be other Benson lakes but the only one I know is next to Multnomah Falls. Fished from shore twice with no fish to show. This is a small lake with no ramp and only electric motors allowed. Looks like they stop stocking it after the first week of May. It probably gets too warm for trout in the late summer- I'm guessing that it's not very deep- maybe 10-15 ft. There's bank access at the picnic area when you first drive in and many spots along the south shore if you walk down the RR tracks.

If this is the wrong lake - then nevermind........

According to what I've read, they stock this lake from March-October. I'll have to try my luck at it sometime. Since it's a non-motorized only lake, it'd probably be perfect for a canoe or float tube.

I think a float is the only way to really have a fair shot at getting action. From what I have seen and heard there isn't a lot of bank to fish from and what there is hasn't proven to be very active.

JT, thanks for that bit of info. I was actually thinking about trying it tomorrow. Now I may have to see if I can borrow a canoe from someone.
