I have fished for Bass under the Hawthorne bridge. Drop shot or use bobber worm. The bowl at Tom McCall park and the marina area is a good spot for SM. The East bank promenade has nice Sm, but smells a little rank. Hope that helps. If you want a spot to Trout fish Salish pond is not far and Blue lake as well.(Not really bikeable distance)

What Part of the Metro Area are you in? and how far can you bike?
Metro could describe a large area that I would find hard to cover on a bike. so are you downtown? NW North, SW, or SE? Lunker had some good ideas....

SE portland....I missed your tag.
I would look for under or near bridges. I have fished a bit under the sellwood bridge during late spring early summer. You will have to wait a bit to fish the WILLY from the bank

Last I checked the water was 47 degrees. Almost there! 50 is where you want it to be.
