Question Reels and Rods

Does anyone know if you can use a baitcasting reel on a spinning rod? I can't find a single 2 piece baitcasting rod. If I could put a baitcasting reel on a spinning rod, that would help a lot!

It is not recommended, but nothing will stop you from doing so. Rods
This is another thread that says why you wouldn't want to.

I saw some two piece cherrywood casting rods at Joes yesterday for $15 bucks. Give them a call to make sure though.

They are actually really not that easy to find under 7 ft. I had to settle for a one piece, because I couldn't find any in stores. Cabelas has one called the gold label casting rods. $50 and the Pro guide for $40. Bass Pro shops will have them as well, maybe cheaper. Those Cherry woods are all one piece.

Walmart has two-piece Ugly Stiks for baitcasting. Very nice action for the money.

But, I would prefer a one piece because of its sensitivity which allows you to detect the faintest of pick-ups.
