Default Anyone Started Yet?

Seems pretty slow on the boards. Are most people still waiting to get out?

Another week of this nonsense and I'll finally have my wife ready to move to Miami. 42 degree water at Wilsonville Pond yesterday, same as it was the day after Christmas.

I spent three months in Florida when I was a teen. A week into it I knew I was never going to want to come home. Ever since then the thought of moving there pops up at least every month.... It does that to people. My grandparents went once on vacation and the next year they were spending winters there and summers here. My uncle went on vacation, came home and immediately sold everything and moved to the beach... I want to go back so bad..

I was there last September at Pampano Beach. At night it cooled down to 82. I loved it. I fished some everyday, except the day we flew down and the day we flew home. Water and canals everywhere. I think that's what heaven must look like. I'll keep working on her.

Exactly. For a time my uncle lived in a condo (nice and a lot cheaper than you would think) on a canal with his boat docked right out his front door. If you look on google maps the canal systems in some areas are tens of square miles. You take your freakin boat to go visit friends and go to the store. Heaven is the word.

How warm does it have to get before the bass start biting?

Dorena lake is starting to fill up and I'm getting antsy.

got out tonight at a local pond next to my house for about an hour and managed to catch the first bass of the year. 3lb's on a blue 4in yamamotto worm. almost lost her in some branches but somehow got her to the bank for a quick pic.

Default First trip

I've been out once after a certain legendary bass named Big Betty. No luck in the hail and snow, but I might have met her cousin. Shook the hook loose on a 7" Brush Hog. I know it's not Oregon-style to fish big baits, but when hunting lunkers the smaller worms encourage too many small fish. I want to frighten those fish with my lure; this year I'm only going after the bigguns. Early spring is the time of year for them, so it's not too early!
