Here's some info direct from Berkley:
"Kelly, The baits are in fact biodegradable, meaning that under natural settings common bacteria will break down the baits into their basic elements, usually within several months to a year. See also the attachments for further Gulp! info. Nissa Lundquist Customer Service Representative" Check this out! These baits aren't that safe either. Although biodegradable, 9 months to a year is a LONG time! |

So that's talking about bacteria in the environment, I wonder what effect the fish's stomach acid would have. If it would still be months or hopefully would be shorter. |

I think there is a plastic called "food source" that is made up of all natural ingrediants. Deemed safe for fish to eat even. Take a look FoodSource Lures :: Welcome to FoodSource Lures

I think the thing that upsets me the most is just the people who are irresponsible with their plastics and old fishing line. The more pollution we as fishermen make, the less chances we have to continue to fish that spot, or even the species. I dont know about you, but I truly enjoy fishing and want to continue doing so for the rest of my life. When I have kids, I want them to have the same resources that I do now. Thank you to all who pick up OTHER people's messes!

when i get my old soft plastics tore up, i put them into a box full of scent (craw fish) and then when i put them on again, they are full of scent. then to keep them on i just use a bit of super glue. if they are too badly torn up then i put them in my box and toss it out later.
people who just throw their stuff away into the water aren't true fishermen. THATS JUST REDICULOUS! ![]()
