The Tualitan is a good river all kinds of species. LM as well as SM reside in there. Butthe water is dirty and make sure you scout the length of river you plan on fishing as there are some decent rapids in some parts of that river. The Willamette is also good SM fishing.

Hagg, I forgot about Hagg lake. I have never fished it, but I know it is home of the Oregon state record Smallie. The lake is a prime factory of Smallies and other sun fish. The lake is also stocked with trout and Brood stock trout.Unfortunatly it is closed right now. check the regs to see when it opens again. As for the float tube on the Willy. I would say you could float it in a tube but it would be a lot of work. There are some sloughs and back water around the Portland area, but I am not sure exactly what the river does current wise in your parts. I am sure someone can help with that question.
Good luck and happy fishin
Onchry has fished from shore at Hagg a lot. He can help you with spots, he likes to fish with fellow OFF'ers as well.

I fish hagg alot and have caught a few bass mainly on craw fish tails on sliding weight rigs just trying to catch what ever and spinners when i was after trout. I know they hit Peoples trolled minnow plugs alot in summer and late spring. If you ever want someone to fish with there send me a PM i have been wanting to learn to fish for bass for awhile. I used to fish with them in Smith and Bybee lakes out side of Portland and some reservoir with swim baits when i was little on occasion and have always wanted to get back into it.---Sean

I tried getting to Smith and Bybee lakes this last summer but after passing a gang of thugs beating someone in the street and finding the road I wanted to take into the lakes gated (N. City Dump Rd.), I decided against it, turned around and just went home thankful to be going home in one piece.

Is that a high crime area or a part of town one doesn't really want to spend much time in? Also from what I can see from Google Maps access looks pretty limited, I assume it really pays to have a canoe or a boat of some sort?
