Roll Eyes New Old Angeler, Looking for a pond to drop a plug in.

I used to fish when I was a kid and recently, thanks to my wife telling me I needed to get out more, fell in love with it all over again. I've found a few trout holes out here on the coast but what I really want is bass. Preferably Largemouth but at this point I think a good smallie hole wouldn't be something to sneeze at. I'm located in Lincoln City and would like to know the closest place to fish for bass but I'm not above driving out of town to go fishing =) Any spots you guys suggest would be MOST helpful and appreciated! Thanks!

Big Grin Yep and Yep

I have gone surf fishin' caught some sea bass I think they were... and I've dropped my line into devil's lake a few times but I haven't seen hide nor hair of a bass. Caught a few trout there tho... But of course it doesn't help that I don't have a boat to go fishin' with soooo.... I'm confined to what little area I can reach from the fishing spots on devil's lake. Also to the first poster, I'll definately have to try breakfast there, any suggestions on menu options?

Cool Coastal Bass

Hey Zeroresin, have you ever tried Tenmile Lakes? They are down south of you a couple hours. Awesome lakes and they even have bass tournaments there. There are about a zillion lakes down around Reedsport and Florence. My son lived there for one of the happiest years of his life. Went fishing every day! Let me know where you find bass if you do. I live less than an hour from Lincoln City and for some reason I always go East. I have been meaning to go over to the Nestucca...

Tenmile is worth the trip, i used to live down in Florence, and when the dirtbike wasn't tearing down the dunes, i had the pole in the Tenmiles. My biggest bass came from there, and it has some really decent bank access to fish some of the cover. Some real 7 pound lunker in there i have heard, but i am not so sure of that...biggest i've seen was in excess of 5. Never been for the tourneys though...Good luck on your bass hunts boss!

Bosses again amoeba?!?! How many do you have?!?!
In honeyman state park next to the oregon dunes, theres 2lakes there with bass or trout in them. Both I think. But watch out for them peeps with scuba gear on like oxygen tanks. They scared the *@&# When I saw bubbles arising mysteriously. I threw rocks and sand at it, then saw big fins. I threw more stuff at it, then saw that it was one of those swimming flippers. They scared everyone so much, no one was swimming anymore for 5 minutes. Theres a little pier dock thing in one of em, one side is sandy and the other is weedy. Good luck!

Tenmile lakes eh? I'll have to go check them out, I have tomarrow off with the wife so I'll kidnap her and take her south. Any suggestions on baits there? I got a few wee wiggler plugs and am probably gonna pick up a few rapala DT flat lures but if you guys have some suggestions on what'll knock them dead out there I'd greatly appreciate it. My wife is one of those people who hates sittin' around with nothing to show for it so... I'd hate to call in a husband point and get my fishin' trip just to sit and stare at a pretty lake for six hours XD

Stick to soft plastics I think is what is best. Senkos, lizards, grubs and swimbaits. Or you could try some spinnerbaits.
