Default Late Spring Bass
What's up?

It sure seemed to come late, but the bite seems to be strong now. In the past two weeks I've landed some lunker bass in the Eugene area. I just found the Oregon Fishing Forum and was excited to see some others in the area as enthused about bass as I.

Welcome to OFF,Badfish! I am not experienced at bass fishing, but I sure am looking forward to fishing for them intentionally. I have actually caught four on the Santiam at the rest area. I heard about a little creek that runs from the Willamette into Eugene that is supposed to be a lot of fun for bass. Wanna share your favorite "honey hole"? If not, that's ok too. You need to trust a site before you open up sometimes. You should fit right in with a bunch of really great guys and gals who just want to fish and share knowledge as well as tips and tricks. Enjoy!

Nice to have you on board...there are some great spots around our area. Some I drive by all most every day. Very lucky to have this diverse fishery in our back yards. Again welcome to OFF..

hey welcome to O.F.F.! its good to see another bass angler!

more north the bite is just starting.... salem.... last 2 times i got a few little guys, 1-2 pounds. but im glad to hear that you are having luck

The great thing about bass fishing to me, is you don't have to go far to catch them. I would look for local ponds in the Dallas area with bank access. Target largemouth bass on the north shoreline in the spring where they go to spawn due to warmer water. I've been using weightless creature baits rigged texas style.

Thank you!

With the rivers being so high, I haven't been able to get out steelhead or salmon fishing. I have a brand new Willie drifter in the garage!!!! So, I started hitting the area ponds and have had some good success. I haven't bass fished for years, so I stopped into Two Bros Tackle and Bill pointed out some of the hot new stuff. It certainly worked. Now I wish I had bought a lake boat so I could hit Dorena and Fern Ridge.

Thanks for the welcome!

I have only been catching fairly large fish, not that I wouldn't welcome some smaller ones. I think because I've been using a large Yamamoto Kreature bait with 5/0 EWG hooks. Try these if you haven't already!
