Default Crane Prairie

I don't think that there are any bass in the Deschutes, however many of the reservoirs have good bass populations. I haven't been to Crane Prairie, but have read that its one of the best bass lakes in the NW. Billy Chinook, Paulina lake, Prineville res., and wikkiup (sp?) res. probably also have bass pops.

Paulina has only trout to my knowledge - nice big ones too - state record brown is from there I think. I believe it may be too cold and high up for bass, though I don't know for sure - they could live there possibly if they were stocked there.

Default Deschutes

The Deshutes, as mentioned above is close to the mountains and has very cold runnoff....
I have fished and rafted the deschutes many times.. On a 100 degree August day you only need to jump into the river to find out it is pure snow runnoff. Like swimming in a slurpie. 30 seconds and I had brainfreeze and jumped out of the river.......soooo cold......no bass.......sooo cold..... great trout fishing though.
