While they may not be as glamorous as salmon or steelhead to some, I still think bluegills are awesome!

And I can't tell from your pictures but what were you catching them on?

i went this weekend both friday and saturday and had no luck. I have no experience bass fishing but spent a good 30 bucks at joes and sportsman and it did not pay off. I saw 3 bass just suspended in a spot and i couldn't get them to bite! Also i bought some senko's but i have no idea on how to use them.

Tongo- Do you not know how to rig the Senkos, or how to fish them?

Don't feel too bad as that investment at SW will eventually pay off. Bass fishing is very hit and miss, and it's a rare day where they go after the first thing you present to them. It's good to have a variety of strategies and tackle available.

They may have just been in spawning mode...

at walling your best bet for a bass bite is a yum craw bug. orangs bottom and black/blue top. you'll know when you see them. get the 3.25" ones, with a 3/0 ewg gamakatsu hook. they have a whole in the front to rig them weedlessly and the bass there cant get enough of them. that post by EZ at the top was me that caught that bass, and i was using a craw bug.

I went out today, and got 1 bass with a crank bait off its nest. it was only about a pound and was real scrawny after spawning. it was guarding is nest. and was attacking everything i threw, but just not talking it. i threw a craw bug and he hit it but wouldn't take it.
then i threw a spinner bait, and he hit it harder but still no cigar. so i put 2 and 2 together -a bass on his bed chasing off fish -a spinnerbait represents a small school of fish -so i needed to go more realistic.

once i casted the crank bait out and brought it about 5-6 feet from its bed it just went for it and i hooked it

wasnt a bad day
