THAT SUCKS!!! I Spent 10 Months In Escondido Last Year And Was Olny 4.5 Miles From That Lake The Whole Time. Needless To Say I Dreamed Of Catching That Fish 24/7 For Almost A Year And Never Even Caught A Glimpse Of Her. Tried Like Hell To Find Her Though... I'll always remember where i was this day RIP DOTTIE

Hmm, "totally spawned out" the article said. While Dotty may have gone to fish heaven a fish that big must have some genetic advantages that she's passed on to others in that lake. I would not be a bit surprised if there were Dotty Jr. or her dotters (sorry, couldn't help myself) swimming in there!

Imagine her being caught when she was only 12-14 inches long, and that night she was cooked up and soon forgotten. I'm glad that she was released. I am very impressed that someone would release her when she would have taken George Perry's long standing record. That angler released a million dollar fish.......and she went on to spawn two more seasons. Passing her priceless genes down.

I feel this is a testament to catch and release. A fish that old... I wonder how many times she had been caught and released. I'm sure more than once or twice.
