My buddy and I were out at minto brown park fishing the slough right behind the far parking lot. We had just started fishing when we smelled something really funky. We look around and we see a dead fish carcus. Off the bat we think its a carp. But as we look closer we notice it is a LM bass. So my buddy grabs his scale pulls it out and the thing weighs 7.7 lbs. we were shocked. the rest of the day went on. didn't see any other fish. Wasn't a good day.
I'll have a pic up soon[quote][ Last edited by EZ Bass Co. : 05-07-2008 at 09:12 PM. |

I go to minto brown a lot and if you want to have success, you have to walk a little way... I am not giving out my secret spot but good waters!!! Many bluegill, crappie, and perch.. I like to use night crawlers for the little fish and light colored minnows for the bass!! good luck

Next time you see something like that, cut it open and see if it's full of plastics.

A Lunker Bass of that size should have at least had the courtesy of being placed above the fireplace mantle of a deserving fisherperson............................

Only one time have i ever kept a big bass. She was my first 6 pounder. I cut her open and found a stomach full of eggs, and thats when i decided NEVER to keep a bass ever again. Trout are a different story, they are produced in hatcheries. But i dont know of any hatchery around here that does bass.... Just keep in mind next time you might wanna keep a big fish bass men. ![]()
