Default The Yin and the Yang

Yesterday was bad. I had stuff stolen from my car, went fishing, got skunked at Delta Ponds, had terrible luck with my gear (bad tangles) and had terrible service when I went out for lunch.

Today was the opposite. I called mom early to wish her happy mothers day and did stuff around the house then went fishing around 3:30. Right away the sight of crappie in the shallows makes me feel better considering I saw only carp the morning before. After trying a few different baits I spot my target, a NICE LM cruising around a down tree. 20 minutes pass and I have tried 4 or 5 without getting more than a sniff. Finally I tried a chartreuse and orange blue fox and BAM... fish on, and he darts for the tree, under a branch and I think oh sh..... Patience and a loose enough drag and I pulled him out. I have only been bass fishing since last spring and this by far the biggest I've caught.

Sorry I didn't get the whole fish in the pic, I dropped him once and wanted to get him back in the water.

I agree, it does sound like a decent system you thought of. however, I'd have to be home all the time to get everyone's info. Now that there's no public access, there are no worries.

More and more gates go up every year. It sucks, but there isn't a large enough percentage of the "sportsmen" that remember the saying - leave a place nicer than you found it.

True that. The problem is that these people who leave thier trash and line have not been taught to value a good thing and to take care of nature. I see it with the generation that is just now coming of age. Thier education lacks enviornmental education and conservation. I am glad to see that schools are looking into re-establishing outdoor education classes. It is vital that each generation learns to respect mother nature and other people's property. Osmosis I would love to fish your pond with you sometime and I will even bring a trash bag that wil be full after I am done. PM me if you are game. I have fished private property before and I pick up line and trash that others have left behind. I have lectured young'uns about cleaning up line, hooks and trash. Sometimes we must pick up the slack of the ignorant masses so that future generations can enjoy what we have. I would close the pond too!

GREAT fish w.f.f.f.! congratulations! sight fishing is some of the most exciting fishing, and yet its also some of the worst.

When i see a huge bass sitting off shore i tend to sit there for the rest of the day and try and try for that one fish, and then my trip is limited.... When i could walk around the pond and catch a bunch more, i sit and get angry that i cant catch this one.

I've spent roughly 15 years with the Boy Scouts as an adult leader. One thing we always instilled on the kids was leaving no trace. That meant not only cleaning after ourselves, but picking up after others.
