Howdo.
Went out to Alton-Baker Park yesterday, to the first pond downstream from the inlet by the upper boat ramp. Met Boy-who-fishes. He had a nice fat 18 incher nearby. I tried bait, finally switched to lures still nada. I decided to head on out and as I was leaving I stopped and tried a lure, a 1/8 oz. brass Thomas spoon. First cast bam! a 14 incher! Faaaat! Second cast wham! a 13 incher! What happened next was astonishing: as I was pulling the second rainbow in close to shore a 6 or 7 pound largemouth bass attacked the trout. I yanked the 'bow away from the bass and tried to catch the bass but it was not meant to be that time. The bite died down and I headed out. Anyway, I'll try to post a pic of the two fish. Nice talking to you BWF! remember: big bait big fish! BFF |

actually theres plenty of bass in there if you fish off the mlk/centennial bridge you'll see plenty of carp.. but if you cast out about 20 feet towards a tree in the water theres a bunch of bass, blue gill, and yellow perch there.. and at night if you go under the bridge there a ton of cat fish.. i useually use a small bobber with a small jig head with a night crawler about 2 feet from the bobber.. for the cat fish i use a treble hook and some raw chicken for the cat fish |
